Due to the development of the social environment and the sophistication of medical care, the number of elderly individuals has been increasing in our country, leading to a rapid aging of the population. As the aging of our society progresses, the expectations for the health of its citizens have expanded significantly, and there is a growing desire for healthy longevity aspiring to lead a long and healthy life.
As a top-tier health and medical university in Kyushu, our university boasts state-of-the-art facilities and a well-equipped educational staff. We maintain national examination pass rates that surpass the national averages and a high employment placement rate. While our university was established as a four-year institution in 2003, including its predecessors, namely Kaketsuken Training School for Medical Technicians, Kumamoto College of Medical Technology, and Ginkyo College of Medical Science, we have produced more than ten thousand graduates up to the present day. Particularly noteworthy is our exceptional achievement in training medical technologists, boasting the largest number of graduates in Kyushu. A robust network has been established through the efforts of our predecessors.
To cultivate individuals as exemplary healthcare professionals, our university upholds four core values - "knowledge", "skill", "wisdom", and "compassion". Knowledge and skill form the foundation for healthcare practitioners, and while our faculty provides opportunities for learning through lectures and practical training, personal effort and active engagement in learning are indispensable. To embody the qualities of wisdom and compassion, classroom learning alone is insufficient; we encourage students to enthusiastically participate in extracurricular activities, volunteer work, and overseas study experiences.
As dedicated educators, we not only impart the necessary knowledge and skill required to obtain national qualifications but also provide a learning environment conducive to developing the spirit of wisdom and compassion, essential qualities for a compassionate healthcare professional.
A university is a place where one’s blueprint in life is drawn. Why not sketch out a grand blueprint for yourself as the next generation of healthcare professionals at Kumamoto Health Science University?
